Taiwan High Speed Rail launched AI ticketing service via Facebook Messenger with Intumit’s SmartRobot platform

Passengers can now purchase Taiwan High Speed Rail tickets via Facebook Messenger, even up to just one hour before departure, the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp. (THSRC) announced on March 28, 2019.

Travelers can log in to Facebook, search Taiwan High Speed Rail Facebook page “Taiwan High Speed Rail” by messenger, start dialogue, enter the departure station, destination, departure time, etc. and follow the instructions to complete the reservation.
The platform will guide travelers to check timetables and ticket availability and make seat reservations and online payments through an app called T Express.

This AI ticket reservation service is using SmartRobot equipped with Intumit’s multi-turn conversation engine, which also supports voice recognition and various different front-end interfaces.

Travelers not only can purchase tickets through Facebook Messenger but also check their reservations and make other ticket-related inquiries through the messaging platform, which can be particularly beneficial for visually impaired people.
